Butler Professional Farrier School offers a new world-class, exceptional facility with experienced instructors who will help students learn how to shoe for soundness and forge firm foundations for horses, business and life. Combining their education with over 63 years of practical experience, the Butler Team teaches prospective farriers how to master skills and gain confidence.

While many horseshoeing schools offer shorter courses, our combined teaching experience has shown that six weeks is the minimum amount of time for the serious student to learn - and become confident and competent - in practicing the basics of the farrier craft. With more one-on-one instruction and practice time, students learn it right the first time. Advanced training is necessary to work on specialized and diseased horses.

“We’re out to protect the feet of all horses. We do everything it takes to make feet on horses last and perform at their optimal best.”

Purpose
Our purpose is to raise the standard of practice and promote the welfare of horses—feet first. We produce qualified and motivated practitioners who are confident and competent at their level of practice. We are forging a firm foundation for the future with professional farrier training.

Facilities
Our facilities are equipped to provide the best opportunities for the student. We have individual forging stations for students to practice shaping and fitting shoes to live horses’ feet. We provide the best working tools to learn with. The student takes home tools ready to work, including a 70 lb. anvil in the basic course tool kit and a propane forge in the advanced course tool kit. This horseshoeing school has the largest collection of horseshoes, pictures, teaching aides, and foot models in America.
